In the past, visitor counters were popular. Today however, you don’t see them as much—and there are good reasons for this.
Visible visitor counters are outdated
Although visitor counters and other badges were popular in the early days of personal and professional websites, their popularity has declined now. Reason being, the code needed for these kind of visitor counters is mostly out-of-date. This, of course, has a negative effect on your website. If you add out-of-date code to your website, this can make it run really slow.
There are better methods
There are better tools and methods available now which can give you more relevant information. We recommend using the internal statistics feature for your Jimdo website.
With the premium Jimdo Creator plans, you can can see your visitor numbers, for example, in the menu under SEO > Settings > Statistics. With a Free plan, you can use Google Analytics to see your visitor numbers.
Your visitor numbers might only be important to you
Note: What’s interesting for you is not necessarily interesting for your visitors.
If you’d still like to add a visitor counter to your website, you can do so by adding the code for one in to the Widget/HTML Element. You could do this rather easily using the POWr Hit Counter.
