Keeping your website and account secure is a shared effort. Jimdo takes care of the technical side, the platform your website runs on, so you can focus on your business. At the same time, there are a few simple things you're responsible for to keep your own account safe.
What Jimdo takes care of
We handle the security of the platform itself, including:
- Secure, certified hosting infrastructure
- Keeping the platform's software up to date
- Protection against cyberattacks, including Denial of Service (DoS) attacks
- Monitoring for threats and vulnerabilities
- SSL certificates for your domain
- Secure payment processing
You can read more in How Jimdo keeps the platform secure and Payment security.
What you're responsible for
A few things are in your hands, and only take a few minutes to set up:
- Using a strong, unique password for your Jimdo account, and turning on two-factor authentication
- Keeping the email account linked to your Jimdo account secure
- Recognizing phishing attempts and knowing what a genuine Jimdo email looks like
- Activating the spam and security features available to you, like form CAPTCHAs or password protected pages
- Keeping your own devices up to date
Our website security checklist walks you through all of this in about 15 minutes.
