In this article, you’ll learn how to configure MX records with the most common external domain providers to use the Jimdo Creator email system.
Important: This guide explains how to set up MX records with external domain providers such as IONOS, STRATO, GoDaddy, and others. The steps do not apply to domains registered directly with Jimdo.
1) Basic principle
In your domain provider’s DNS management area, create or adjust the following MX records:
-
MX 1:
mx1.jimdo.com.(Priority 10) -
MX 2:
mx2.jimdo.com.(Priority 20)
It’s also recommended to add the following TXT record to ensure that your emails are not blocked by spam filters:
v=spf1 include:spf.mandrillapp.com include:sendgrid.net include:emailsrvr.com ~all
Changes to DNS entries can take up to 24 hours to propagate worldwide.
