Here you can learn how to upgrade or downgrade your Jimdo Creator plan, what deadlines apply, and how changing your plan affects your website features, shop, and content.
Upgrade from Creator Free to Creator Pro or Creator Business
To upgrade your Creator Free plan, follow these steps.
- Log in to your Jimdo account and choose the desired website.
- Click Edit to open the Jimdo Creator editor.
- Go to Upgrade in the menu.
- Choose the plan that fits your needs and click Order now.
- Select the contract length and enter your personal details.
- Review your information and click Buy now.
Once completed, you’ll receive a confirmation email and can start using the new features of your Jimdo plan right away.
After upgrading, you can connect your own domain to your Jimdo Creator website. You can register a new domain, transfer an existing one to Jimdo, or forward your domain from your current provider.
Upgrade from Creator Pro to Creator Business
If you already have a Creator Pro plan and want to switch to Creator Business, follow these steps.
- Log in to your Jimdo account and choose the desired website.
- Click Edit to open the Jimdo Creator editor.
- Go to Upgrade and select View the offer for the Creator Business plan.
- You’ll see the exact upgrade price calculated to the day. Click Order now to complete the upgrade.
Good to know: Any unused time from your Creator Pro plan is automatically deducted from the Creator Business plan price. This means you can upgrade at any time without paying twice.
Downgrade your plan
You can downgrade your Jimdo Creator plan to a lower tier at the end of your current subscription term. Downgrades do not take effect immediately and will be applied on your next renewal date.
When can I request a downgrade?
You must request a downgrade at least one month before your subscription renewal date. For monthly subscriptions, changes can be made up to one day before the next renewal.
What happens after downgrading?
When you switch to a lower plan, some features and limits of your website will change. Review the included features in your new plan: Pricing and features
- Storage space
- SEO settings
- Online store features
- Number of products in your shop
Example:
- In the Creator Pro plan, you can create up to 15 products
- Advanced shipping options are no longer available
Important: No content will be deleted automatically. If you exceed storage or product limits, you won’t be able to add new content until you are back within the limits. Existing content and products remain unchanged.
How do I request a downgrade?
Downgrades are currently not available directly in your Jimdo account. Please contact our Support Team. Your current plan will remain active until the end of your subscription period.
What happens to add-ons?
Let our Support Team know whether you want to keep or remove add-ons. Some add-ons may not be compatible with lower plans.
Switching back to the Creator Free plan
If you are on the lowest paid plan and want to switch back to the Creator Free plan, this is handled as a cancellation.
- Your website will stay online with a free domain
- It will run on the Creator Free plan
- Paid features like e-mail accounts or custom domains will no longer be available
- Your shop will remain active, but only PayPal will be available as a payment option. If you want to fully close your shop, you need to remove all products.
