When clients book an appointment on your website, your booking confirmation emails and the booking checkout link to your imprint, privacy policy, terms and conditions and right of withdrawal. In Legal pages, you choose which pages on your website these links open. This article explains how to set up your legal pages and which pages you need to create first.

How legal pages work for Bookings
Your booking confirmation emails and the booking checkout contain four links to your website:
/imprint/privacy-policy/terms-and-conditions/right-of-withdrawal
These addresses are always in English, whatever the language of your website. Each one forwards to the page you choose in Legal pages. The content your clients see is the content of your page, in your own language.
Note: Legal pages only lets you choose pages that already exist on your website. You can't write legal texts there. If you haven't created a page yet, do that first and then come back to Legal pages.
Important: If you don't choose a page for a link, that link opens your homepage. Jimdo can't give legal advice. You're responsible for the content of your legal pages.
Set up your legal pages
- Open your website in the Editor.
- Click Menu and go to Settings > General > Legal pages.
- Choose a page from the dropdown for each link: Imprint, Privacy policy, Terms and conditions and Right of withdrawal.
- Click Save.
The links in your booking emails and in the checkout now open the pages you've chosen.
Imprint
Every Creator website automatically has an About page, which you can use as your imprint. The page starts empty, so you need to add your details. It can't be deleted.
Until you save your choice in Legal pages, the imprint link opens your About page.

Privacy policy
You set up your privacy policy in the Editor under Settings > Privacy and security. There you can select the privacy notices you need and add your own text.
Important: If you untick all privacy notices and delete your own text, your privacy policy page no longer exists. The privacy policy link in your booking emails then no longer works.
If your privacy policy is hosted on another website, add it to your navigation as a link and then choose it in Legal pages. The link needs to be part of your navigation, but you can hide it from your website's navigation menu if you don't want it to be visible there.
For details, see How do I activate the Privacy Policy?
Terms and conditions
Terms and conditions are optional. If you use the Store, you can choose the terms and conditions page of your Store.
If you use both the Store and Bookings, make sure your terms and conditions cover both products and include any conditions relevant to your bookings.
If you only use Bookings, you need to create your own page with your terms and conditions and then choose this page in Legal pages.
For details, see Where do I insert my Terms & Conditions and Returns Policy?
Right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal page explains to your clients how they can withdraw from a booking. If you use the Store, you can choose the withdrawal page of your Store. If you do, make sure to update the page so that it also includes the relevant withdrawal information for Bookings.
Otherwise, create a normal page with your withdrawal text and choose it in Legal pages.
Important: The electronic withdrawal button isn't switched on automatically. You need to switch it on yourself.

Troubleshooting
A legal link opens my homepage
No page is chosen for this link. Go to Settings > General > Legal pages, choose a page and click Save.
A legal link shows "page not found"
Open Legal pages and click Save. This updates your website and the link works again.
A legal link opens a different page than the one I chose
If a page, blog post or forwarding already uses the same address, for example /imprint, it takes priority over your choice in Legal pages. Rename or remove the page or forwarding that uses this address.
Links in older booking emails no longer work
Links in emails that were already sent can stop working if you change the address of your imprint page in the SEO settings or switch on maintenance mode. New booking emails use your current settings.
Why doesn't the booking email contain my terms and conditions?
Booking emails contain links to your legal pages, not the full texts.
