This article explains where to find bank transfer, how to use the correct IBAN, and what to do if your bank returns an error.
Bank transfer availability
Note: Bank transfer is available for customers in Germany, Austria and Japan.
You can switch to bank transfer once you have paid at least one invoice, it can't be used for your very first payment. For that first invoice, please use one of the other payment methods shown on your payment page.
Where to find bank transfer on your payment page
In your subscription details, you can choose a new payment option.
Log in to your Jimdo account and select the desired website.
- Open the editor via Edit website.
- In the left menu, select Subscription.
- Click Update payment method.
The options at the top of the page are the ones we charge automatically. Bank Transfer is listed separately at the bottom of the page, below the payment details form, so you may need to scroll down to see it.
Select Bank Transfer and click Update. From then on, your invoices will include the bank details you need for the transfer.
How to find the correct IBAN
Always use the IBAN shown on your most recent invoice.
The IBAN on your invoice belongs to your subscription alone — it's how we recognise that a payment came from you and apply it to the right subscription. That's why the details have to come from your own latest invoice:
- Don't reuse an IBAN from an older invoice, even if you've successfully used it for previous payments.
- Don't use bank details from anyone else's invoice, even if they're also a Jimdo customer. A payment sent there won't reach your account.
Important: For customers in Germany and Austria, old IBANs were deactivated on 21 August 2026. Payments sent to an outdated IBAN will no longer go through. Make sure you always use the current IBAN from your latest invoice.
What if my bank returns an error?
If your bank returns an error when you try to make the transfer, you're most likely using an outdated IBAN.
Check your most recent invoice for the current IBAN and try the transfer again.
How long does a bank transfer take?
Bank transfers can reach us on the same day, but depending on your bank and when you make the transfer, processing may take a few business days. Once we receive and process your payment, your subscription will be updated automatically.
I have bank transfer enabled but don't see it on the payment page
Bank transfer only becomes available after you've paid at least one invoice. If this is your first payment, the option won't appear yet — please use one of the other payment methods shown on your payment page, and you'll be able to switch to bank transfer afterwards.
If you've already paid an invoice and still don't see the option, please contact Support and include your invoice number so we can look into it.
