When your mailbox is upgraded to JimdoMail, your current calendar and tasks won't be available anymore. They can't be exported or synced directly to another tool. If you want to keep your calendar entries and tasks, copy them before your upgrade date.
In this article:
Your calendar
You can keep your calendar entries in two ways: copy them manually, or subscribe to your calendar from another calendar tool using a URL.
Option 1: Copy your calendar entries manually
- Log in to your current webmail and open Calendar.
- Go through your upcoming appointments, starting with the next few weeks.
- Add each appointment to the calendar you want to use in the future, for example Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.
- Set up recurring appointments as recurring appointments in your new calendar. This way, you only need to enter them once.
Option 2: Subscribe to your calendar from another calendar tool
Your calendar has a subscription URL that you can add to another calendar tool. This gives you temporary access to your calendar entries from that tool, so you can copy them to your own calendar more easily. It isn't a permanent backup.
- Log in to your current webmail and open Calendar.
- In the menu on the left, right-click your calendar and select Edit.
- Under Private URL or Public URL, click Activate. We recommend using the Private URL (see below).
- Copy the URL.
- Add the URL as a calendar subscription in another calendar tool, for example Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.
- Before your upgrade date, copy or move the entries you want to keep from the subscribed calendar to a calendar in your own Google, Apple, Outlook or other calendar account.
Important: Subscribing to your calendar doesn't transfer your entries to another calendar. After your mailbox has been upgraded, the old calendar and its subscription URL won't be available anymore, and the subscribed entries will no longer be displayed. Make sure you copy all the entries you want to keep to your own calendar before your upgrade date.
Private URL or Public URL? A Public URL makes your calendar accessible to anyone who has the link, without a login. The Private URL is the safer choice for personal appointments. Only use a Public URL if you're comfortable with your calendar being accessible this way.
Your tasks
Note: Tasks aren't available on the Basic plan. If you're on the Basic plan, you can skip this section.
Tasks can't be exported or synced to another tool. To keep your tasks, copy them before your mailbox is upgraded.
- Log in to your current webmail and open Tasks.
- Review your open tasks.
- Copy the tasks you want to keep to the tool you want to use in the future, for example a task app, your calendar or a document.
