Subdomains at Jimdo
At Jimdo, a domain is never set to point at a specific page, as it works the same for all pages. This is true for domains registered through Jimdo, forwarded domains which are registered with an external host, and also for potential subdomains.
Because of this, in most cases a subdomain—for example shop.mydomain.com—doesn’t have any additional benefit on a Jimdo website as it can’t be set to point directly to your Jimdo store. For this reason, it’s not possible to use and manage subdomains with Jimdo.
Setting up a subdomain
If you’d like to use a subdomain with your Jimdo Creator website anyway, you can set up a redirect of a subdomain to your Jimdo Creator website. For this, you’ll need to add the subdomain at another host and then redirect it to your Jimdo Creator website.
If you need any more help with this you can always message us, and we’ll send you the AuthCode for the transfer of your domain. You can get in touch with us by going to Questions in the menu bar of your Jimdo Creator website.
