If your Jimdo website is offline or appears to be blocked, there are usually just a few common causes, most often an unpaid invoice. In most cases, you can resolve the issue quickly. This article helps you identify what happened and explains how to get your website back online.
Unpaid invoice
This is the most common reason for a website going offline. If a subscription invoice is not paid by the due date, your website is automatically suspended.
When your website is blocked, you can no longer access it in the editor. This also means you cannot open your invoice from inside your website.
What to do
- Check your email inbox
- On the day of renewal, you received an email with a payment link
- Use that link to pay your invoice
- If you cannot find the email, contact Jimdo Support to receive a new payment link
What happens after you pay
- Your website is restored automatically within 48 hours
Debt collection
- If you fully settled a claim via Debtist or PAIR Finance, your website is restored automatically within 48 hours
Domain issue
Jimdo domains do not expire separately. They are automatically renewed as part of your subscription.
However, if you are using an external domain that is not registered through Jimdo, your website can go offline if that domain is suspended.
What to do
- Check with your domain provider
- Make sure your domain is active and fully paid
Domain suspended by registrar
If your domain is managed externally, it may be suspended by the registrar due to:
- Unpaid domain fees
- Policy violations
- Legal issues
What to do
- Check emails from your domain provider for the reason
- Log in to your domain provider account and review the domain status
- Resolve the issue or contact your provider’s support
Technical issue
If your subscription is paid and your domain is active, the issue may be temporary.
How to check
- Visit status.jimdo.com
- If everything shows as operational and your site is still offline, contact Support
